So the brief for that post lunch lull was for a wet weekend martini. Gulp, I mean even I don’t do martinis on a Saturday afternoon…..but I didn’t resist. And given that I had just read about a joint round the corner that apparently eclipses Dukes (which is a little dull), we were down there quicker than lightening. It was such a perfect spot – very plush, everything scaled down a little, a smooth soundtrack of Elton John and the like. We were trying to keep a low profile – as much as we could so not to ruffle any feathers of the high tea guests. Then a waiter even appeared from out of nowhere with cheese on toast! (Was that tactical on their part?) We may have enjoyed this place just a liiiitle too much but I can’t wait to go back as soon as the opportunity arises.
