Amsterdam comes to the V&A

amsterdam

The V&A produce these great Saturday afternoon programmes focusing on a different city each time. Formerly known as “World Cities” its now morphed into “Style Cities” though I doubt the difference is particularly discernible. They do a great job of pulling together the right mix of speakers to offer a rounded and different perspective. I usually have some coincidental fortune in that I am usually going to their featured city bang after the session. Lo and behold, off to Amsterdam I go next month, but not via London this weekend!

“Originating from a small fishing village on the Amstel river in the C12th discover how Amsterdam flourished as one of the most fascinating and beguiling cities in Europe. With a heart of beautiful canals, nicknamed ‘Mokum’, iconic architecture with intricate and playful brickwork, and museums full of major art works the city holds a rich and enthralling history that attracts more visitors than many other European cities.”

Tickets here, Saturday 1st Feb, 14.00 – 17.00, £25, £20 concessions, £10 students
