It’s probably too soon for more random pictures of plants that no layman is likely to be able to identify, but it’s NEVER to soon for another Guy Bourdin image.
The 14th February is looming, and it usually deserves to be avoided like the plague. But lo – here’s a clever little option if you’re under pressure to deliver – and you’ll get brownie points for your alternative and mildly subversive approach. The unique Chelsea Physic Garden is repeating the lecture Aphrodisiacs from plants: the superstition and the science by Professor Peter Houghton, Emeritus Professor, King’s College London. The drawback, as I just realised is that it’s 2pm. So that requires a mini-bunk.
Perhaps seal the deal with a table at Tinello (the most perfect Italian restaurant with a touch of Manhattan and 50s glamour about it) and while the rest of your time away in the tiniest of Belgravia pubs, The Fox & Hounds or the Nag’s Head.
Aphrodisiacs From Plants, at the Chelsea Physic Garden, SW3, 2pm 14th February, free with admission.
