I remember going to the dive that was in this building a while back – it was the last of the latest late bars that would be open in Soho. And my god did they know how to take adv of that with their prices! So now its been taken over by the French! And they’ve thrown a lot of time and effort (money) at it. Great cocktails – clue is in the name, and very personable service. Reassuringly expensive. I like the feeling of the skinny building/lots of floors architecture. Weird diving off Gerrard St in the heart of Chinatown but in a good way. Either try to call ahead to guarantee entry or assure the doormen you’ve most certainly booked. Best cocktail? Something with pepper in it, can’t recall the name.
13a Gerrard Street – open til 3am….YES 3AM! Clearly a little legacy from the previous tenants. Fiver cover charge after 11pm.
