La Piscine Molitor opened in 1929 to bring a little more glamour, galas and parties to Paris society. Despite its historical status it fell into seemingly irretrievable disrepair and closed in ‘89 to become one of central Paris’ urbex party hotspots.

A recent major renovation has involved four specialist architects who have honoured original architect Lucien Pollet’s vision. The two pools – the indoor and 28°c outdoor pool have been meticulously restored to their Deco glory – from the bold yellow tango hue to signage and stained glass windows.
So congratulations to the team that brought Molitor back from the brink. As one anticipates these days, they have slapped on a 104 room + 20 suites hotel, a gym, bar and an 80 cover restaurant with various terraces to soak up the sun. Rotating chefs will work with the team to keep things new, fresh and on it.
Sadly for the masses, this has been conceived as a particularly exclusive experience – for members and hotel guests in town for le weekend – quelle dommage. You’ll just have to check in, to check it out!
