A great Dorset hidey hole – a little 30s Spanish style villa with a panoramic view of the Jurassic Coast sleeping 6. Lyme is a super trad little seaside resort town which has already been eyed up by Mark Hix for his California style restaurant. Check out the newly restored independent Alexandra Hotel and the laid back Town Mill Bakery. Walk the 8 mile wild-garlic lined undercliff to neighbouring Seatown (which is a bit of a sad little spot so try to line up a taxi for the return leg, they only do buses every other hour round these parts – arghhh). Get your hands on Ian McEwan’s Chesil Beach and pay the setting a visit to see what you can unearth. Seriously, there are dinosaurs down there.
