I happened across the Tate on Saturday and caught a preview/practice of tonight’s opening of Michael Clark, which I’ve booked for. Lovely light – I’ve never seen the Turbine Hall cast like this. Nice go-faster stripes too.
Despite seeing Michael Clark numerous times, I don’t know what to expect but the Tate’s blurb offers “The Michael Clark Company returns to Tate Modern to present the world premiere of a new commission for the Turbine Hall. Iconic British choreographer Michael Clark will work with movement, film, light and sound to create a site-specific work. Building on last year’s success, the company will once again invite members of the public to take part in a series of weekly workshops. This unique opportunity will allow non-professional dancers to become a part of the artistic creation and contribute to the final performances.”
