The past 36 hours I’ve been entertaining a New Yorker in London. The strategy was to show off our fine pubs, no point in going down the trendy bar route. Can’t compete. It was epic and horrendously messy really… Being eager to please the grand tour went as follows:
LN-CC shop.
Carpenters Arms
Ye Old Mitre
St Johns
The Jerusalem Tavern
The Duke
Soane Museum
Hunterian Museum
Caravan
London Fields Lido
Broadway Market
Rochelle’s Canteen
The most exquisite wedding party in Spitalfields in a gorgeous venue.
Shoreditch House (boring)
He was suitably impressed but I am now feeling it a bit, and wondering how long I can string out Glastonbury on the telly, sparked out on the sofa – a bit criminal with the sun out. Got an obscure selection of morning after food: lovage and peas. Fortunately/unfortunately I now have a birthday to go and enjoy. Yelp. I think I peaked too early.
