The summer tour round parliament is one of those odd activities that seem to be invisible to the common or garden Londoner. As if only tourists are able to hone their visual skills to pick up on it. Its brilliant! And you learn so much etymology such as the origin of ‘toe the line’. The medieval hall that you have no idea is there….its so familiar form the telly that its a little surreal seeing some of these spaces in the flesh. Tours take about an hr and a half and run 29th July to 3rd September 2011. There’s actually a good shop for presents – Houses of Parliament chocolates, biscuits and all manner of things to impress your friends!
