So I’ve been having a little binge on these London Prepares tickets. Gymnastics…well lets say the audience might be a little activity-shy. The cycling however was an altogether different experience: very buff audience and apparently much more intimidating and hard to please than your average Olympic audience (heard them referred to as the ‘prawn sandwich’ brigade). This lot were die hard cycling nuts.
We upgraded our tickets without too much difficulty (or too much asking) and sat near the finish line. What a gorgeous building – as swoopy as hoped. The atmosphere was cracking – with all the big names. It was a great way to fritter away a damp Saturday morning. Inside the track was a hive of activity, an amazing sense of industriousness with every nation carved up into cubby holes beetling away like fraggle rock.
