Underground, rainbow London

So this year marks 150 years of London Underground. Yes, the Tube is 1.5 centuries old, and my don’t we know it. You’ll see a flurry of events and celebrations throughout the year – maybe we could even see every tube line working all weekend to really push the boat out and party!

Liverpool Street’s Bishopsgate is often the source of some curious talks and events, and they’ve not disappointed. Feb, March and April they will host three talks to dig deep beneath the city streets beyond the tube lines to reveal hidden places, cultures and people. And they’ve taken a decidedly gay tack for their blue-rinse brigade audience, kicking off with Cruising and Cottaging in the Capital on 13th Feb (should’ve been the 14th, it’d make a great antidote). Thank you to George Michael, our featured cover girl today.

More information, Bishopsgate Institute, tickets free but reserve in advance.
